1973Porsche
Black
I’ve owned this car since March of 1988. It was originally sold in Oklahoma City, OK and subsequently sold to its second owner, a gentleman from Enid, OK, from whom I purchased it. I was in the USAF stationed at Tinker AFB, and I stopped by Bob Dumont’s shop in OKC, where I saw this car being serviced. It had a “For Sale” card in its window, so I asked Bob about it. He told me the good and the bad, and since it seemed to have been well maintained and within my budget, I got it. I drove it through two moves, first to Las Vegas, NV, then to Richland, WA, and after about 14 years I decided it needed a little “freshening up”, and I took it off the road. Well, “freshening up” can be a slippery slope, and let’s just say I must’ve hit every rock on that hill. About 16 years later, I finally got it back on the road after completely dismantling it, down to every nut and bolt, and getting it all back together. I had some good help along the way, but a good chunk of it I did. Pretty much everything has been replaced, restored or upgraded. Paint, seals, wiring harness, brakes, pedal cluster, nuts and bolts, you name it. As it sits today, it has a 2.9 liter MFI engine making about 256 hp, a limited slip differential, upgraded suspension, auxiliary oil cooler with finned lines, Fuchs wheels to replace the original cookie cutters (7Rs in the rear), H1 headlights and a plastic 911RS gas tank. The interior was redone in the original style, except for the door panels, which I swapped out RS type panels, as I never liked the pockets it originally had. I’m currently installing a Classic Retrofit air conditioner and upgraded alternator, which my friends are pestering me to get done (probably well founded!). I hope you enjoy checking it out on Saturday!
