Riviera Blue
To accentuate the USA reveal of the new 993 model, Porsche offered 17 coupes to selected dealers in the special launch-edition color of Riviera Blue. For the next year this Porsche languished on the lot at Carrera Motors in Oregon (now Porsche Bend) because in 1995, Riviera Blue was not a popular color. Never destined to be a garage queen, "BLU MAX" became a racing legend with the Northwest Hill Climb Association, SCCA Autocross, three PCA Parade autocrosses and the Silver Sage BBB Hillcross, accumulating scores of first place wins along the way. A Northwest Hill Climb Association sticker, San Antonio Porsche Parade Autocross sticker, “17” 2002 Boise Porsche Parade sticker, BLU MAX Idaho License Plate and other memories of the past still remain in place.
